Crazy Pink Guy

As far as I know this puppet doesn't have a name...
Pete, am I wrong?
This one is a puppet I co-built. Tricky Pete and I were hanging out at his place a couple years ago working on puppets and we both started working on this crazy one together. So here it is on A Puppet A Day, the first co-built puppet!
Pete's made a few more puppets that will end up here after I hit the one year mark, along with other puppets made by other Elmwood crew members..

Geoff

Geoff
From the series "Gamerz"
Jim did sketches for how he wanted Geoff to look, then I ran with it form there. I'm really happy with how he came out.

Banana Buddy - Bowler

In the book "Puppet Mania" there's a puppet called the Banana Buddy.
John Kennedy wrote this fun book on puppet making, I recomend picking one up!
I did a worksop with him in 2005 at a puppetry festival, we all made the banana buddies, and then put on a goofy little show, the one I made ended up a bowler.
Here he is!

Another Jon

Jon
Hand Puppet
Yup, another self portrait, this one's a hand puppet with a fabric face as opposed to a sculpted one like Rev. Jon.

My grandmother is a crafter and she gives me boxes full of her remnant fabrics from time to time. Since there usually isn't enough of one type of fabric to make one of the big puppets I use the stuff on the puppets, often as hair, and other touches, and I use alot of it for these hand puppets. I love making them, they're quick and fun.

The Witch

The Witch

She was made a tribute to my mom. Seriously, hahahaha...!
Every Halloween my mother would dress up like a witch, get really into it. We had the yard that was decorated to the extreme, like a cemetery and such, even made the news a few years...
She's appeared in the old Plink show, Plinksgiving, and in Steve The Vampire.
She was also part of the gallery at the 2005 Puppetfest in St. Paul MN
Today would have been my mom's 62nd birthday, so wherever you are;

Happy Birthday Mom!

Andrea

Andrea
OK, so here is what happens when you mess up. I made her and she looked like a cool rock and roll head-banger chick. The I though; "Man, I could mess with her hairs some more!"
And all I did was split her head open. The picture above is after I fixed the seam down the front of her face, after it was opened from top of the head all the way into the nose.
Below is her all fixed up...
I got lucky!
