Joining us at the screening will be Robert Fullerton for a performance of his music before the movie begins! Yup... We've seen him before, as "Grover". He is also in "The Risley Brothers" as Roger! The difference between Grover , Marcus, and Roger? Just the outfits! Ha!

Mouth Puppet - from "Christmas Wishes" and "The Risley Brothers"
So I'm going to try to get back into a puppet every week, on Saturdays... I've got a bunch from the past year-ish with "The Risley Brothers" series and other projects that haven't been posted yet.
This one above was used in "The Risley Brothers" as a patron of the bar a couple times, and now as "BEN" and in "Christmas Wishes", a short that will be released later this year. Between Risley and the new short we gave him new eyeballs. Haha...
Some of this puppet goes waaaayyy back to 2005. His body and original head were made then. The puppet was then used a few years later (with original head) in "Leonard and BWoP"... Which we really should do more with those guys!
Then the head was removed and ended up on a tree in "HEAD". While prepping "Risley" I took the nody and gave him an all new head. This poor puppet cant catch a break. You'll see what I mean when the short comes out!

Over the past couple years I've been lucky enough to be invited onto a few podcasts as a guest...
The last one I did on The Shadow Nation got me wondering how many I have been on. I was trying to remember them all... It's not too many, just 5!.. But more than I could place in my head, so I went and looked them all up.
I believe this is all of them here, if you wanna listen to me babble!
Honestly, I haven't listened to any of the episodes I've done, just seems weird! Maybe now that I have them all saved here I'll break down and do it!
To say I love the art of puppetry is an understatement.
It is my life. My passion. And at times, an obsession.
And not just the type of puppetry I do. I love all kinds, and try my best to learn as much as I can about each one, see shows, films, etc. whenever I can.
It is an art form that has enriched my life.
So how does one "celebrate" world puppetry day?
As a puppeteer and puppet maker I will definitely spend some time today working on my art.
And as a fan of puppets I will watch something... New? old? I don't know yet.
What can you do? Seek out a local puppeteer and see if any shows are happening, go online and rent/download a film featuring puppets... Hug a puppeteer and thank them for keeping this ancient art alive in these times... Check out your local puppetry guild, and Puppeteers of America!

Eleven years ago today Prince released one of his BEST albums, 3121.
I can't believe it was that long ago. Right now the album is out of print, but easily found used online. I heard it's getting re-released soon though!

The picture above is of the newer "Heather". She got a little facelift (and more) as the series goes on.
One of my favorite parts of revisiting the characters from the short film and turning it into a series was being able to mix it up, make a new Wes, and update Heather, and add some new dynamics as far as performers were concerned.
I think the show of "The Risley Brothers" is wicked cool, and hope that as you see it you'll love it as much as I do!

It was one of those reviews that totally gets what we're doing over at Elmwood Productions. Here's a quote that very much sums up what I mean:
" I honestly feel that this isn’t so much a puppet movie, but rather a horror movie that just happens to star puppets, some major props go to these puppeteers executing this vision."
We aren't just making puppet movies. Were making movies.
It doesn't matter the genre, we just want to tell good stories, and make good films. We just want them to star puppets. And why not? Drama, action, comedy, horror, romance... We're going to do it all. And I love it! There was also an awesome review on Horror Geek Life!
