The Funkbot 2000

I wanted this SOOOOO bad as a kid.

I went through a robot phase like so many other kids in the 1980's. My brother and I both did.

I saved my money forever it felt like.  Cuz this thing was not cheap.
And then one day, poof...  My parents decided to surprise me and my mom took me to get one.

10 year old Jon. And Omnibot 2000...

I was obsessed with it. Played with it so much my parents had to tell me to take breaks, lol...

So I would then just use it a a tape player for music. And it's eyes flashed with the beats.

Loved that...

And then I became an adult.

I kept the Omnibot into adulthood. And then had a big move to Florida in 2001. And somewhere between moving there and then back to Connecticut the robot disappeared.

Last summer my buddy Rich gave me one. It needs some TLC, and doesn't work. But this Omnibot 2000 is going to get new life.

And the project has begun.

Winner!

I'm home. I've showered, relaxed, slept... And thought about this alot.
And I'm still shocked, floored, and full of love.

The speech we get to make on stage Sunday nite doesn't event show a tiny bit of the tip of the iceberg for who I feel we need to thank.
And to type every name here... I would still miss someone and have to come back and edit this post one thousand times.
Thank you to all thr Elmwood Productions crew who made the flick. Mike Finland gets a specail shout out for drawing this now iconic doodle that started it all and for sharing this weird comedy we have in common that lead to making this flick...
Thank you to all our friends and families who supported by giving us time away to film, by coming to screenings and events, and for all the love and support.
All the Kickstarted backers for "Bernice, Too" - Thank you.
And lastly Thank you to the Elmwood fans who have supported these crazy puppet movies for over 20 years and who keep asking us #whoisbernice

Puppets on Etsy!

I just added a few new puppets to Etsy!

Penny Day!

 Penny.

Happy birthday Penny!

I don't actually know when your birthday is. So I choose today. It was the Saturday before Thanksgiving in 2014 you chose me at the Humane Society in Newington. They said you were around four years old. So, I decided that the Saturday before Thanksgiving will be your day, no matter what the date is.

I'm thankful for you, you crazy turkey.

Just good times...

Puppets, and puppet stuff coming back soon. I swear.

Happy Halloween

Blast from the past...

This was sent to my inbox this morning.  I have never seen this.  Actually, still haven't watched it.  Watching old interviews feels odd and weird.
This was from summer(?) 2014. I was asked to quest on a local colleges TV show about film and film making. I honestly thought it was never aired/released!
If the video doesn't work, click HERE for it!

We were working on HEAD a the time!  I really just remember it was a hot hot hot day, haha...

Puppets... Coming... Soon... Ish...

I said a few months back I was going to get back to sharing new puppets every Saturday in October.

Well, I lied.  Haha...

Gonna start after the first of the year.  Lot's of fun happening right now at the Elmwood studio and I wanna hold off until we hit a new year to catch up on the puppets!

In the meantime, here's some sneak peek behind the scenes pictures of some of what we're up to!
